Clinkies are ceramic/china art pieces. Instead of paint, the artwork
is rendered in kiln-fired under-glazes and glazes that will never fade or
scratch off. Some pieces make repeated trips into the kiln to assure
proper interaction/blending of the colors; but whether fired one time or
five, the final beauty of each piece is permanent and guaranteed to be one
of a kind.
(Though the artist feels ceramic/china pieces cry out for the fire,
commissioned items may be cold-painted if you desire.)
If a model does not have a price next to it, that means it is already gone.
However, the artist is accepting limited commissions! Prices are:

TAF XEQUL STARGRAZER
Above one’s head, the cold majesty of a moonless night is riddled with
the ancient stars. And suddenly, there, a darkness; flying overhead
comes the next and most wonderful dragon created by TAF studios! Please
join the starlit night in welcoming the brilliantly jewel-toned XEQUL
STARGRAZER!
As with his cousin “Kequ Hakan,” XEQUL is likewise a thing of the
night, adorned in magnificent jewel-tones just perfect for
star-grazing! The deep greens and rich russet browns of his face, neck
and wings are highlighted with patchy spots of bright greenish teal. The
spikes running down his back range in color from royal blues through
complementary teals to the palest of bluish white. In brilliant
contrast, his belly is the yummiest salmon color, blended into dabs of
white. And as if this isn’t enough to make him the absolutely richest
and most beautiful of all dragons, rival to his cousin “Kequ Hakan” for
eye-catching color, just gaze into the deep apple-green and teal of his
gorgeous, mesmerizing eyes!
TAF XEQUL STARGRAZER was created with the use of a variety of quality
art and exotic glazes, some of them being custom mixed by the artist,
and many of them discontinued. After several trips through the kiln, he
was finished in diamond tough clear glaze, so his brilliant hues will
not fade or scratch over time. He is absolutely unique, a definite OOAK,
and is approximately 7.5 x 5.5 inches in size. |

TAF BOGARDUS – the LEOPARD FROG
Ok, it is now time for tongue-in-cheek. We all know of the Leopard
Frog, Rana pipiens…but here is a new twist on an old species (ok,
familial complex for all you biology people out there)! Please welcome
to the TAF barns the wonderfully bright, if somewhat lackadaisical, TAF
BOGARDUS, the “Leopard Frog.”
What else is there to say about this guy? We’ll just let the
pictures speak for themselves. It is hoped that the intense work the
Kid put into making “Bogardus” shows in the pictures too; look closely.
His coat is nicely shaded from russet-orange to gold to white. His eyes
are a brilliant green. His nose is hand-painted in pinks and grays and
charcoals and blacks. But his pride and glory are his leopard rosettes,
each one carefully hand-applied.
BOGARDUS was created with the use of quality underglazes and art
glazes, and finished with diamond tough, crystal clear gloss so his
brilliant coat will never fade or alter over time. Since The Kid really
doesn’t want to let go of this one, it is here on exhibition, in case
you would like to commission a unique piece for the frog-lover in your
life! This particular model is a chubby 5” wide, 5” tall, and 7” long,
but other frog models are available, too. Please contact us for
pictures of what we have in stock.
The price of
commissioning a leopard frog is a very reasonable $50 for models ranging
from 3” to 8” in length. Larger models will be priced accordingly; we
can talk…

TAF
KEQU HAKAN Shhh… the forest is quiet with the
night. Through the canopy cold moonlight filters down, speckling the
floor in shadows that dance a flickering welcome to the Master of all he
sees, the next and most wonderful dragon created by TAF studios. Please
join the shadows in welcoming the brilliant KEQU HAKAN!
Quite obviously KEQU is a thing of the night, adorned in magnificent
jewel-tones just perfect for shadow-hiding! Deep midnight blues and
rich khaki browns highlight his wings and belly, tail-tip and toes,
muzzle and fingers. The horns atop his head are deep chocolate,
blending neatly into deep, deep black-gold; in his hands he clutches a
shadowy Orb of Seeing, too clouded to be presenting him as yet with any
knowledge. But his scales… there his true majesty shines out! Each one
shaded in deep evergreen, they are in tones of golden green and rich
olive. Here and there delicate streaks and specks of russet and copper
augment them further, with occasional areas of deep blue blending almost
imperceptibly into the finish. And as if this isn’t enough to make him
the absolutely richest and most beautiful of all dragons, just look into
those brilliant purple eyes!
TAF KEQU HAKAN was created with the use of a variety of quality art
and exotic glazes, some of them being custom mixed by the artist. He is
absolutely unique, is approximately 7.5 x 6 inches in size, and as a
test item (growing in turn from some of the earlier test items created
by The Kid) is not for sale. However, The Kid loved his looks so much,
this technique will be repeated on a future, different dragon.
Please check back and look for its arrival! |

ROOSTER ONE Here is a critter new to the TAF
zoo, a tiny little custom glazed rooster! But even though this little
chanticleer is tiny, he most certainly has not been ignored in the
detail department! His body is a lovely honey gold, with deeper brown
breast, flank and wingtips. His beak and legs are shaded gray, his
wattle, comb and face are in varying tones of red, and his eyes show
eyewhites for depth. The neatest part about this guy, however, are his
underside and tail feathers, both created with different techniques but
ones producing extremely complimentary results! The underside is in
deep, rich evergreen (no green glaze used, btw) that is softened by tiny
flowing splotches and streaks in shades of blue. His tail, likewise
created without a single drop of green glaze, is more of a deep forest
green, speckled and splotched instead in tones of teal and royal blue
with the deepest brown and almost metallic charcoal popping throughout.
All in all there is wonderful depth for a rooster so tiny, a rooster
we believe ended up looking remarkably like those produced commercially
in the mid-20th century! Produced using various glazing techniques and
no less than fourteen different quality glazes, this little guy is
finished in clear gloss glaze, thus assuring his colors will not fade or
alter over time. Signed and dated by the artist, he is a minute 3 x 3.5
inches in size. |

TEST MUSHROOM 3 The Kid REALLY likes how this
test mushroom turned out! Once again, simply by applying quality art
glazes in a particular sequence, again with some being custom mixed
together, TAF comes up with yet another extremely unique piece. This
one has a wonderful stem in varying shades of taupe, khaki and brown,
but the cap is almost too intricate to describe. On a backdrop of deep,
rich olive, there are brown blotches and specks, bright sky blue
streaks, and a wonderful assortment of crystalline splotches in
coordinating shades of greens and blues. Here and there a spot or two
of bright teal pops out as accent. This is a large mushroom, standing
approximately 7” tall, with a cap having a diameter of about 5”.
Definitely a OOAK piece. |

MUSHROOM TEST 8
(Model 2)
Here is a repeat of an earlier mushroom, one that
turned out so nice that the glazing process was repeated on a different
model. And yes, even though glazed in the same manner, this one turned
out differently. Thus this mushroom is yet another one-of-a-kind piece,
and one that is surprisingly realistic to boot! As with all mushrooms I
produce, this little fungus was made with a variety of quality art
glazes, some of them custom mixed, applied differentially to create
something fresh and unique. Its cap may not be as deep a brown as that
of its predecessor, but those rich tones are definitely there. Instead,
this time more of the coppery-gold components came out, flowing evenly
into the deeper shades. Distributed over all are tiny specks and spots,
in mossy green and the softest, palest of dusty blue. The blue tones
are repeated in the stem and gills, mixing nicely with root beer and
just the tiniest touch of soft, dusty mossy green. As this mushroom has
been kiln-fired, it can withstand an outdoor environment; it just needs
to be brought back inside when the temps approach freezing. But it is a
lovely indoor piece, and would look just as nice sitting next to a
potted plant, or perhaps actually sitting in the pot of a larger one.
This rich little beauty stands nearly 5” tall, and is approximately 3.5”
across the cap at its widest. It is signed and dated by the artist. |
|
|
TEST MUSHROOM 11 Here is a
little test mushroom that is a touch different from the others glazed by
the artist. The colors are rich and complex; let’s see if they can be
described! First of all, the stem is entirely different from those of
former mushrooms. This time it has been glazed in tones of golden
sand, with tiny touches of pale cream and milk chocolate distributed
evenly throughout. Further highlighting this interesting stem are
speckled hints of dusty blue, and an “oversheen” of near-lavender that
finishes it in an almost pearlized effect. Definitely unusual and super
rich in appearance, this wonderful stem turned out to be the perfect
companion to the cap… and oh WHAT a cap! This time the artist chose a
combination of super rich, flowing art glazes, and flow they did!
(Please see all pictures, LOL!) Jewel-tones of copper, deep peridot,
gold and root beer are accentuated with elongated streaks and spots of
black and pale celery. Here and there, speckles of dusty blue peep out,
demure but not entirely overwhelmed by evenly distributed and
eye-catching bright yellow splotches. And boy howdy do those yellow
splotches command attention, nestled as they are within their associated
haloes of autumn rust! This absolutely unique little piece stands
approximately 5” tall, with the cap being approximately 3” in diameter.
Being kiln-fired in shiny glossy glazes, it can withstand being outdoors
(just bring it inside if the temps threaten to drop below freezing) –
but we think it would look great indoors by a potted plant! It is
signed and dated by the artist. |
|
|
TEST MUSHROOM 12
Here is what using the same technique on a different mushroom model can do! This tiny mite has a cap glazed entirely like our MUSHROOM TEST 11, but because of the more flattened top this one resulted in spots and splotches rather than elongated streaks! As with its predecessor, jewel-tones of copper, deep peridot, gold and root beer are accentuated with elongated streaks and spots of black and pale celery. Here and there, speckles of dusty blue peep out, demure but not entirely overwhelmed by evenly distributed and eye-catching bright yellow splotches. Some of the art glazes used in the creation of this particular cap did mix and flow together, producing a very pretty and pattern of elongated streaks evenly distributed over its entirety. However, as the artist did not want to TOTALLY repeat another mushroom, the stem and gill structure have been tweaked a bit, and are made in tones of taupe and root beer, chocolate and golden sand. All in all, this lovely little ‘shroom is uniquely unto itself, a definite OOAK piece standing a mere 3.5 by 2.3 inches in size. It is signed and dated by the artist. |
|
|
TEST MUSHROOM 14 The Kid just loves playing with those wonderful, flowy art glazes, and decided to find out what would happen if something was exchanged for something else that resulted in our Test Mushroom 13. Here is the end result: a wonderfully speckled and spotted ‘shroom that is CLOSE to its predecessor, yet differs enough to be considered OOAK. This time the glazes mixed together to produce a base color in which those tiny cells are more prevalent, each outlined in nearly true black. That cap is then liberally covered with splotches and spots of gold-haloed scarlet, turquoise and peacock blue, interspersed here and there with ones of celery and jade. The gills and stem are a touch darker, being glazed in tones of golden brown, sand, root beer and dusty blue. To bring definition to the gill structure, it was then further darkened. This lovely fungus stands nearly 5” tall, and is approximately 3.5 inches across its cap. Signed by the artist, it is NFS. Contact us if you would like something along this order made for you! |
|
|
TEST MUSHROOM 16
Here is yet another totally unique and one-of-a-kind mushroom, one
created with a completely different set of glazes, and one whose stem
turned out to be a very realistic one. Once again created by the custom
application of quality art glazes, some of them custom mixed in turn,
this ‘shroom turned out to be very rich in color. The cap is almost too
complex to describe, being covered primarily in tones of silvery blue,
dusty green, and gentle brown and gold. Here and there deep teals pop
out, flowing around to encapsulate the “almost rings” and spots of
palest, icy blue that are uniformly sprinkled about. Turning this
beauty about in light reveals that cap is not only an evenly distributed
admixture of colors flowing subtly into one another, but of finishes as
well. Not entirely glossy, not entirely satin, the cap is a fusion of
both… and is supported by a stem that is almost as beautiful. That stem
is a deeper, richer color than those of former mushrooms coming out of
TAF studio, being golden brown for the most part. Overlaying this base
color are shades of root beer and teak, which augment it in flowing
streaks and absolutely pop it into life. Topping this are speckles and
splotches in silvery lavender, while a deep translucent chocolatey-black
blends the stem into the likewise darkened gills. This wonderful fungus
is substantial in size, standing approximately 7-1/2 inches tall and
over 5 inches in diameter at the cap. It is intended as a competition
piece and currently NFS, but will be reproduced on another mushroom in
the near future. | |
|
TEST MUSHROOM 18
Next is another one of the smaller mushrooms, one designed to be a
competition piece. This little fellow sports a cap glazed to show tiny
cells of deep forest green, cells outlined in nearly black. Splattered
liberally all over this unique base are spots and dots, splotches and
patches in teals and peacock blues, golds and scarlets, some of them
being haloed. The gills are a rich golden root beer in color, blending
seamlessly into a golden amber stem, in turn being patched in places by
silvery sand. Another beautiful blend of fantasy with the realistic,
this mushroom is never to be exactly repeated; however, another one is
in the works which will closely follow this color combination. This
tiny ‘shroom is 2” by 2” and is signed and dated by the artist.
|
TEST MUSHROOM 19
Ok, we said another one similar to TEST 18 was in the works, and here it
is! This is one sweet little OOAK mushroom, kiln-fired and ready to
join your garden crew. As with its predecessors, the glazes mixed
together to produce a cap covered in tiny deep green cells, each
outlined in nearly true black. That cap is then liberally covered with
splotches and spots of gold-haloed scarlet, turquoise and peacock blue,
interspersed here and there with ones of celery and jade. The gills are
a touch darker, being glazed in tones of golden brown, sand, root beer
and dusty blue. Supporting this unique cap is a stem in root beer
streaked amber, mmmm. This lovely fungus stands nearly 5” tall, and is
approximately 3.5 inches across its cap. It is signed and dated by the
artist. | |
|
TEST MUSHROOM 21
This mushroom is one designed by combining materials and techniques used
in two prior ones. Once again created with the custom application of
quality art glazes, this ‘shroom, along with its predecessors, turned
out to be very rich in color. As with Mushroom 16, the cap is almost
too complex to describe, being covered primarily in tones of silvery
blue, dusty green, and gentle brown and gold. Here and there deep teals
pop out, flowing around to encapsulate the “almost rings” and spots of
palest, icy blue that are uniformly sprinkled about. This lovely cap is
sparked into eye-popping life by the rich, even depth of its super
glossy finish… and is supported by a stem that is unusual to say the
least. That stem is the “tweak,” this time being glazed in sandier
tones, covered with miniscule russet streaks and deeper, charcoal
specks. Overlaying this base color flow shades of root beer, russet and
teak, which augment the stem in yet more flowing streaks that absolutely
pop it into life and connect it seamlessly with the splotched and
darkened amber gills. This wonderful fungus is perfect for display,
being approximately 5 inches tall and 3 inches across the cap. It is
intended as a competition piece and currently NFS, but will be
reproduced on another mushroom in the near future.
|
TEST MUSHROOM 22
This mushroom is one designed by combining materials and techniques for
the cap that were used in several earlier ones; the stem and gills,
however, are different making this a OOAK piece. As with all mushrooms
the artist produces, this latest test was created with the custom
application of quality art glazes, this ‘shroom, along with its
predecessors, turned out to be very rich in color. Like earlier
permutations, the cap is almost too complex to describe, being covered
primarily in tones of silvery blue, dusty green, and gentle brown and
gold. Here and there deep teals pop out, flowing around to encapsulate
the “almost rings” and spots of palest, icy blue that are uniformly
sprinkled about. This lovely cap is sparked into eye-popping life by
the rich, even depth of its super glossy finish… and is supported by a
stem that is a bit unusual to say the least! That stem is in shades of
the lightest, palest grays-to-blues-on-oyster white, and is a bit
texturized in that it shows minute bumps and the teensiest of itty bitty
bubbles into which amber color has flowed. Between the cap and stem are
of course the gills, which are deeply shaded and generally root beer in
color, color which flows in an artsy manner down into the stem itself.
Standing approximately 4-1/2” tall and nearly 4” across the cap, this
little gem is signed and dated by the artist. It can be displayed
anywhere, including outside: just bring it in when temperatures approach
freezing. | |
|
TEST MUSHROOM 23
This next mushroom being offered is a likewise OOAK piece, and as with
all others was created using several quality art glazes and techniques.
This time the artist was after something a touch more on the realistic
side, and it is felt that goal has been reached. : ) Here the cap is
dotted, specked and splotched in wonderful, earthy tones of gold and
russet, taupe and chocolate, with pale, pale streams of not-quite baby
blue softly flowing throughout. The colors in the cap flow gently into
the edge of the gills, which are a deeply shaded, rich root beer in
color. Finally the stem is a wonderful shaded white, the shading being
in tones of soft grayish blue. Standing approximately 4-1/2” tall and
nearly 4” across the cap, this glossy beauty can be displayed outside –
just bring ‘er in when temperatures approach freezing. It is signed and
dated by the artist. | |

TAF
“AMURI”
Ok, the Kid couldn’t help herself, lol. Please say howdy to the latest
little ray of sunshine to come trotting into the TAF barns, TAF AMURI!
Once upon a time this little cutie-pie was a draft horse, but looky what
transformation has occurred: now she’s a leopard appaloosa! Literally,
lol. AMURI is a test model for our equally tongue-in-cheek leopard frog
TAF BOGARDUS, who may be seen on our website. Though she’s a test model,
however, she was given the same painstaking care and attention to detail
as her follow-up. Her eyes are an extremely icy green (sorry that the
camera thought “WHITE!” They really are a pale, pale icy green, like
some cats eyes are.) Her golden coat is delicately shaded, as are her
hooves and nostrils. And while you’re checking out the shading in those
nostrils, take a gander at the nose, now notedly feline! She sports a
pretty white blanket, but best of all are the myriad leopard rosettes
that cover practically every inch of her body! A petite 3” x 3” in
size, she is finished in crystal clear, diamond tough gloss glaze so her
brilliant coat will remain true, and is signed “LB test ‘09” under the
glaze on her belly. She comes complete with a laminated COA. Let her
guard your herd! | $45.00

TAF TEST MOREL 1
Here is a very pretty morel custom glazed with a variety of quality art glazes and the use of several different glazing techniques. Several glazes have been physically mixed together to create not only the realistic color of the morel's cap, but its very soft and almost spongy appearance. (I am not referring to the obvious “spongy-holes” in the cap, but the part of the cap outlining them). Because of this, this piece looks very much like a real morel. The stem has been created using three different art glazes, all applied in a particular sequence. All in all, this morel is not only unique in color, but absolutely one-of-a-kind as well. (One can never guarantee that something fired in the exact same manner as another will turn out exactly the same, you know! We attribute this to the whimsy of the kiln-gods, LOL.) It stands approximately 4 and ¾ inches tall, and is about 2 inches in diameter at its widest.

GARDEN SNAIL Offered for your consideration
is what turned out to be a very pretty little garden snail! Seeking to
maintain a harmonious balance with the simplicity of the mold’s basic
design, this snail was likewise glazed in a simple yet eye-catching
manner. The body is a great khaki color, with evenly distributed tones
of charcoal and hints of brown. The shell is in varying tones of rich,
smooth jade green, and is dotted with occasional splashes of peacock,
ice-green, russet, and ice blue. Very tiny, minute specks of golden
khaki (too small for the camera to pick up) are evenly distributed all
over the shell, bringing yet more balance to the piece in general.
Nicely sized at 8” long by 4.5” tall, this little fellow sports a satin
finish. He has been kiln fired, not only so his colors will remain
true, but also so he might be displayed outside in a garden as well.
But on second thought, maybe he’d look just as nice peeping out from
beneath a potted indoor plant! This snail is a one of a kind creation,
and has been created using discontinued glazes. |

TAF WHIPLASH Here is the first bull ever
glazed by The Kid: TAF WHIPLASH, the wild n’ woolly Texas longhorn!
While still in the bisque stage, poor ol’ WHIP had a losing battle with
a wildcat (ok, really a 4-month-old Houdini of a kitten) who managed to
get into his corral and go on the offensive. Thus this poor bull’s
horns, tail, and one entire leg have been re-sculpted by the artist
before any color was applied. But then, with a mix of quality glazes
and underglazes, some custom mixed, WHIP was brought into glorious
life! His coat is multicolored in spots, splotches, speckles and
patches. His hooves and horns are wonderfully shaded. His undersides
are deep in color and nicely shaded and mottled as well. And his eyes
are an extremely realistic, russet brown. Since WHIPLASH has been
re-sculpted while in the bisque stage, we cannot guarantee his safety in
shipping, and thus hesitate to sell him. He is here as a display model. |

TAF KOOL KITTY Talk about the cat’s pajamas!
Please welcome to the TAF barns our latest and most unusual resident,
TAF KOOL KITTY. As suggested by her name, this is one cool cat! After
being carefully cast and hand-cleaned by the artist to give the bisque a
glass-smooth canvas, she has then been brought to life by the
application of several quality art glazes and underglazes, some of them
custom mixed. Her coat is a wonderful mixture of peacock teals, blues
and greens, topping a shining-slick metallic charcoal undercoat. Bright
golden eyes stare up in typical curiosity, said eyes being created using
four different colors. KOOLIE was an extremely difficult cat to
photograph, as her “peacock overlay” is EXTREMELY reflective and shiny,
while the metallic parts are, well… metallic. This particular
combination tends to give the camera conniption fits, lol. But the
images show her color with a flash; she is perhaps a bit deeper and
richer (darker tones) in indirect lighting. But her wonderful coat
really shines beneath sun or lamplight, or any other kind of direct
lighting!
KOOLIE is a great size, sitting about 7.5” tall but only 4.5” across
at her widest. She is definitely a one-of-a-kind piece. |

TAF MIKEY Well… what can we say about MIKEY
that the photos don’t already show? Here he is, a squat squatter of a
toad, all done up by the careful application of many different art
glazes and underglazes, some of them custom mixed in turn. He’s a
wonderful toady greenish-khaki on his back, dotted with deeper, richer
brown tones, while his underbelly is… well, “toadish” in color, lol.
Eye-popping golden peepers stare out sardonically upon his little
ceramic world. His finish is not quite glossy, not quite satin, but
somewhere toadishly in-between. Standing (ok, squatting) at a
substantial 4” x 7”, MIKEY has been created as a gift, and therefore is
not for sale. But, since he was also a test for toad color, look for
other such creations in the future, or contact us if you’d like to
commission one! |

TAF BERNARDO Well, well, well! Looky who’s
come hopping down the bunny trail! Is it Peter Rabbit? The Country
Bunny with the Little Gold Shoes? The perpetually hurried White Rabbit
of Wonderland fame? Nope, guess again! It’s Scioto’s (we think)
marvelous life-sized laying rabbit, transformed here into a black and
white domestic! With nicely splotched white-on-black ears, black face
and shaded black tail, shaded toes, inner ears and muzzle, cute little
pink nose and wonderful baby blue eyes, this feller is the last one
you’d ever want to consider for hassenpfeffer! Over a foot long and
nearly 8” to the top of his ears, he’s quite the attention-getter… but
as he was created to be a gift he is not for sale. However, should you
wish a little (ok, life-sized) bun-bun custom painted to your heart’s
desire, please don’t hesitate to contact us! |

MISTER CHEEPS
Here’s a critter not often glazed by the TAF barns, but what a little
cutie-pie he is. Please welcome our latest addition, the baby robin
whom “they call” MISTER CHEEPS! (Sorry, we couldn’t resist…!) But just
look at this fat little cheeper, all done up with a variety of
techniques and myriad quality art glazes, several of these custom mixed
in themselves! His back is a wonderful blend of soft but rich grayish
brown and deeper rust, just as in the case of a live robin, and shaded
and darkened where appropriate. His plump little breast is finished in
lighter, orangey-to-buff tones, again as with a real bird that hasn’t
quite yet grown into his more reddish adult plumage. Those breast
feathers are dotted with brownish blotches; he’s coming close to
adulthood, but hasn’t lost quite all of his baby speckles yet. This
little fellow’s beak is the most realistic, we think, blending from gray
tones into white into soft, orangey-gold into bright yellow, shaded and
tipped with the darker tones it will assume upon adulthood. And last
but not least are his beautiful, big brown eyes, which stare out upon
his tiny little world with quiet curiosity.
This appealing little fellah is, sorry to say, destined for
competition, and is therefore NFS. One may be commissioned, however;
please write if you are interested. He is a great size, coming in at
approximately 4” tall x 4” wide x 5.5” long (fat little toot, isn’t
he?). Cleaned by the artist and finished in the shiniest of gloss
glazes, he is signed and dated. |

TAF CORAL Here in all her fishy splendor,
because we just can’t seem to stop creating goldfish, is the third in
what now seems to be definitely evolving into an entire series of
upcoming fish: TAF CORAL. “CORAL” is simplicity at its best, a pretty
little orange and white fantail with golden-orange eyes, and shaded,
fade-to-white fins. She is approximately 4” in length and is UNSIGNED,
but comes with a laminated certificate of authenticity (including a

Even though this fish is unglazed on the inside, it should be able to
be immersed in water. We apologize for any confusion brought on by
conflicting text concerning TAF’s first glazed goldfish, “Champ.” |

TAF MIDAS
There’s just something about a fish. Think about it: the inherent
beauty of lazily flapping fins swirling in the water, the kaleidoscope
of color flashing iridescently in the light, the gentle means by which
they move along: hypnotic, soothing…
Not to mention being plain fun to glaze!
Ok, The Kid admits the latter, and is having entirely too much fun
coming up with ideas for fish. Here’s another one, TAF MIDAS. Yes,
“Midas,” because it’s GOLD, hee hee, get it? Ha ha… ok, down to earth,
er, water that is and let us continue.
Here in all its fishy splendor is, as introduced, the second in what
might just evolve into an entire series of upcoming fish: TAF MIDAS.
“MIDAS” is created using different art glazes, which resulted in a
golden fish with the flash of deeper gold here and there, soft and
sultry white areas blending into black patches, deep black eyes and
fade-to-white fins. MIDAS is approximately 4” in length and is UNSIGNED,
but comes with a laminated certificate of authenticity (including a
portrait photo, LOL.)

TEST MUSHROOM 1
Small mushroom custom glazed using various techniques and quality art glazes. It is finished in shiny, shiny gloss glaze so the color will not fade or alter over time. The stem is shaded for realism, the gills a translucent chocolate brown… but the cap is a vibrant orange with yellow bursts of color, just for fun! This piece stands approximately 4.5 inches tall, and the cap is approximately 3.5 inches in diameter. It has been kiln fired, and so is able to be set outdoors or wherever you want a spot of color! Enjoy!

TEST MUSHROOM 2 Whoa, dude... The Kid
is still playing around with glazes! Here’s another unusual mushroom,
created once again with layering of several different quality art glazes
(shhh, we can’t divulge what and in which order, lol!) – some of them
being a custom mix themselves. Because of the fashion in which the
glazes react with each other, this pretty little fungus has a very
realistic stem. The cap is different as well, having an artsy flowing
look of sage greens and dusty blues, deep russet-brown spots and specks,
and larger splotches in varying shades of yummy blue! All in all this
turned out to be a very attractive piece, and is definitely OOAK. It
stands approximately 4.5” tall, and is almost 4” at the diameter of the
cap. |

TEST MUSHROOM 4 Here is another unique mushroom
offered up for your consideration. Once again created with
the use of many different art glazes, some of them custom mixed, this
pretty little fungus sports a stem in tones of taupes and root beer,
with just the barest hint of dusty blue for depth. The cap is
absolutely one of a kind, in shades of khakis, deep forest and dusty
greens, with spots of icy blue, brilliant teal, peacock and russet
distributed nicely throughout. The underside is shown just
because, well, we think it’s as pretty as the topside! The gills
are nicely highlighted by the flowing art glazes, which flowed very
evenly all around. (This isn’t easy; glaze likes to run away
sometimes, lol!) This rich little beauty stands approximately 4.5”
tall, and is about 4” in diameter at the cap. It is finished in
shining, glossy glaze; the colors will remain true and not fade or alter
over time. Being glazed, it is resistant to rain and can be placed
outside, although perhaps it might look just as pretty standing next to
a potted plant inside! |

TEST MUSHROOM 5 Here’s another unusual
mushroom, created once again with layering of several different quality
art glazes (shhh, we can’t divulge what and in which order, lol!) – some
of them being a custom mix themselves. This pretty little fungus sports
a stem in rich tones of russet, chocolaty-brown and root beer, with just
the barest hints of translucent black for depth. The cap is absolutely
one of a kind, in SUPER SHINY deep, rich and solid black, with spots and
splotches of coppery-russet distributed nicely throughout. This is
highlighted by an occasional golden yellow which the camera did not
manage to pick up; the primary focus of the cap, however, are the large,
eye-demanding spots of bright poppy red! The underside has shading,
which highlights the gill structure. This rich little beauty stands
approximately 4.5” tall, and is about 4” in diameter at the cap. It is
finished in shining, glossy glaze; the colors will remain true and not
fade or alter over time. Being glazed, it is resistant to rain and can
be placed outside, although perhaps it might look just as pretty
standing next to a potted plant inside! This definitely OOAK piece is
signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 6 Here is something different,
as far as the world of garden mushrooms goes! This is a lovely (at
least we think so, lol) and long-stemmed little beauty, all in shades of
blue! The stem has been created with custom-mixed quality art glazes,
and is in tones of russet, taupe and root beer, with an over-all “wash”
of yummy, dusty blue. The gills are in ALMOST the same tones, only
bearing colors a touch deeper, a touch richer, to show the gill
structure. But the cap, wow. What a pretty cap! It has been created,
once again, with the application of several quality art glazes, some of
them custom mixed, which has resulted in a definitely one of a kind
piece! The rich, royal blue background is dotted and spotted and
splotched with mossy greens, golds and russets, and blacks and white,
with splashes of teal and peacock blues interspersed evenly about. This
absolutely unique little piece stands approximately 5” tall, with the
cap being approximately 3.5” in diameter. Being kiln-fired in shiny
glossy glazes, it can withstand being outdoors (just bring it inside if
the temps threaten to drop below freezing) – but we think it would look
great indoors by a potted plant! It is signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST
MUSHROOM 7 The next little fungus offered for sale
is one that turned out to be a fairly lifelike one.
Patterned after the dangerous-to-eat
amanita mushroom, this little beauty sports a speckled white stem
(with light reddish tones to tie it in with the cap), gills that are
glazed with translucent colors to bring out their structure, and a
wonderfully spotted and speckled poppy-red cap! The
stem is shiny, shiny glossy; the cap is textured with the spots being
raised. This little mushroom was made with quality
glazes and with several different glazing techniques, and being
kiln-fired can withstand being placed outdoors.
However, we think that it would be best displayed indoors, as it is
pretty much life-sized at 3.5 “ tall, with the cap being 2.5” in
diameter. (It might get lost in your garden, lol!)
This is a OOAK piece, and is signed and dated by the artist. |

MUSHROOM 8
Here is a rich, RICH
little beauty of a mushroom! As with all of the
mushrooms I create, this one was made with a variety of quality art
glazes, some of them being custom mixed. Varying
techniques were used in the creation of this one-of-a-kind piece; I
could try again, but this one would NEVER be repeated again.
(Such is the whimsy of the kiln gods, lol!)
This one turned out particularly nice, with a rich (did I say rich?)
stem in tones of dusty blues, deep taupes and root beer.
These tones carry up into the gill structure, over which the
flowing art glazes used for the cap… well, flowed!
That cap is eye-catching in itself, in rich (I wax redundant) tones of
deep brown, root beer, and golden-copper (there is real copper in the
glazes used to make this one), with speckles and splotches in dusty moss
green and the palest, softest of blues. As this
little lovely has been finished in glossy glazes and kiln fired, it can
withstand being placed outdoors. However, as with
all the mushrooms I create, I feel it would be just as pretty displayed
indoors next to a potted plant. This one stands
almost 5” tall, and is nearly 3” across the cap. It
is signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 9
The next mushroom coming from TAF is
purely a mystery. Why, do you inquire? Well, once again The Kid has
been playing around with glazes, and THIS little shroom is the result of
not a single drop of green glaze! (???) Yup, you read right,
lol. Thus we can safely proclaim that this particular little beauty is
absolutely, positively one-of-a-kind, never ever to be replicated
again! (Oh how The Kid loves to play around with glazes!)
This is a tiny
little mite, but once again a mushroom that is super rich in color. The
stem is in tones of deep olive with the teensiest of reddish-brown spots
here and there, while the cap has a base of something close to grassy
evergreen. That cap is covered with liberally flowing splotches and
patches, dots and spots, all presented in luscious browns, ochres, golds
and black. And finally, hiding beneath that wonderful, unique cap are
the gills, which are olive-blue in color.
This little ‘shroom
is approximately 2” tall, and 2” in diameter at its widest. It is
signed and dated by the artist. Being kiln-fired it can withstand an
outdoor environment; just bring it in before the temperatures drop to
freezing. (Personally, however, I think this little fungus would be
just as lovely sitting next to an indoor potted plant! |

MUSHROOM TEST 9
(Model 2)
This brilliant little ‘shroom is again a repeat
performance of an earlier one, only in this case it has been “tweaked”
just the slightest from the original. Because it is now on a different
model, has indeed been “tweaked,” and since even though the cap was
glazed in the same manner it is quite different from the original, it is
thus a definite one-of-a-kind piece. As with the one before, this
mushroom was created WITHOUT a single drop of green glaze! (Go
figure!) But green it is: a rich near-emerald green that is extremely
eye-catching. Over that captivating green cap are blotches and patches,
specks and spots, in shades of russet, soft yellow, maybe a little
creamy white, celery, olive and black, with just a touch of chocolate
brown here and there. The stem (the “tweak”) is a wonderful root beer
brown with flowing patches of soft, dusty blue and mossy green. Beneath
that cap, the wonderful mix of glazes is highlighted by olive-brown and
deep marine blue that outlines and defines the gill structure.
This unique little
mushroom is nicely sized at approximately 5” tall, and 3” across the cap
at its widest. It can be placed outdoors since it is glazed and
kiln-fired; just be sure to bring it back inside when the temps approach
freezing. But this mushroom will look just as nice sitting indoors,
enhancing a potted plant! It is signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 10 Here’s another unusual
mushroom, created once again with layering of several different quality
art glazes (shhh, we still won’t divulge what and in which order, lol!)
– some of them being a custom mix themselves. Created with the use of
many different art glazes, some of them custom mixed, this pretty little
fungus sports a stem in rich tones taupe, dusty blue and root beer, with
just the barest hints of cream for depth. The cap is absolutely one of
a kind, in a wonderful mix of light khaki and deeper brown, with spots
and splotches of coppery-russet, pale cream and black distributed nicely
throughout. This is highlighted by brilliant peacock blue spots and
specks; the primary focus of the cap, however, are the large,
eye-demanding spots fiery orange and yellow! The underside is a mix of
deep blue, sandy brown and taupe, all which combine nicely to highlight
the gill structure. This rich little beauty stands approximately 4.5”
tall, and is about 4” in diameter at the cap. It is finished in
shining, glossy glaze; the colors will remain true and not fade or alter
over time. Being glazed, it is resistant to rain and can be placed
outside, although perhaps it might look just as pretty standing next to
a potted plant inside! This definitely OOAK piece is signed and dated
by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 13 Oh, WOW. Looky here: WHATTA ‘SHROOM! Lol; here is definitely one for the books… or for your garden! Brightly speckled and splotched, streaked and spotted, here is another OOAK piece, one with looks that grab your attention and simply demand a second, closer look. What at first appears to be a black cap reveals itself upon inspection to be in shades of extremely deep forest green and deep navy-ish-indigo blue (SUPER difficult to describe, but it’s not exactly black!). That cap is peppered with eensy, beensy little “cells” or evenly patterned dots in tones JUST a touch brighter and lighter than the base color mix. Then over that super and extremely unique cap are spots and splotches in turquoise, peacock blue, flaming scarlet, and soft golden yellow, all interspersed evenly with dotty little streaks of the palest, palest bluish-white. The stem and gills were glazed in shades of golden sand with just a hint of dusty blue and lavender; then the gills were deepened with a chocolatey root beer to give them definition. This wonderful little fungus, standing approximately 5 inches tall and nearly 3 inches across the cap, would be a beautiful addition to your garden (although we think it would look super indoors next to a potted plant!). Just be certain to bring it inside should the temperatures approach freezing. It is signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 15 On to something new! There is just something about this quiet little ‘shroom that grabs one’s attention… and then hangs onto it, for the glazes used to create this one ended up producing one that is a fabulous cross of the realistic and the fantastic! This little fellow is basically in shades of brown… but look closer. The cap is splotched in browns and dusty khakis, russets and deep olive greens, but here and there an almost silvery hue pops through. The gills are a deep olive-khaki, with the barest hints of deeper shades to define them. And the stem is a wonderful mix of light taupe and pale milk chocolate, peppered with the tiniest specks of deeper chocolate brown, with the barest hints of lavender producing an “almost there” sheen over its entirety. All in all, the colors came together “just right,” again creating a ‘shroom entirely different than those produced before, and one that would look just as pretty standing indoors as outside! (If outside, just bring it in before the temperature approaches freezing.) Life-sized at approximately 2” by 2” this mushroom is signed and dated by the artist. |

TEST MUSHROOM 17 Here is
a tiny little mite, but a 'shroom that sports a more realistic color
than some of those created in the past. This little fellow has a great
golden cap, liberally splotched in tones of gold and rusts, browns and
ivories, and dotted with both tiny deep chocolate specks as well as
larger, eye-catching yellow spots! The stem is in light taupe hues, with
sandy gold and dusty blue overlaid; root beer/rust flows down from the
gills, which are golden-ivory outlined in the deeper color. This unusual
and artsy kiln-fired mushroom stands approximately 2 inches tall, with a
cap that is approximately 2 inches across at its widest. It is signed
and dated by the artist. | SOLD!! |

MUSHROOM 20 TEST
MUSHROOM 20 is one that is soft and simple in color, pleasing to the
eye. This little OOAK lovely sports a wonderful golden amber cap
streaked and splotched with silvery sand. This sandy color is repeated
in the stem, while the gills retain the great golden amber color of the
base cap. This little lovely was created with the use of several quality
art glazes, applied in special sequence to obtain the look aimed at by
the artist. Here at TAF we think this one turned out realistically,
reminiscent of something you'd find peeping from beneath the leaves on
the ground as you hike through the forest on a cracklin' early autumn
day! This lovely little 'shroom is signed and dated by the artist, and
stands approximately 5" tall and 3" across the cap at its diameter. |

CHAMP Here’s something fun and different, a
cute and beautifully colored custom glazed goldfish. Based on a real
champion goldfish, TAF CHAMP is primarily white and bears large patches
in colors ranging from bright yellow through orange to deep
orangey-red. Shaded color runs into each fin, whose edges are rimmed
with black. Black eyes peer out in, well… in typical fishy fashion.
And topping everything are lots and lots of black spots and splotches,
making this fish reminiscent of a calico cat! Finished in shiny and
glossy tough clear glaze, CHAMP’S beautiful color will never fade or
wear off over time. He is self-standing at approximately 4” long,
UNSIGNED, but comes with a laminated certificate of authenticity,
complete with photo.

SMALL TOAD Here is a
little cutie-pie… well, if one can ever manage to think of a toad as
being described as anything close to the word “cute,” lol! A tiny
little toad, just right to display beneath your mushrooms! (For
comparison, and to give you an idea, he is shown beneath two different
mushrooms: one about 4” tall – the orangecap – and a taller one, close
to 7” in height.)
At a minute 2” x 2” in size, this little fellow
might be tiny, but that doesn’t mean he was just “tossed into life.” No
less than four different quality art glazes were used to make his
toadishly little self, while custom mixed underglazes were used to bring
his golden peepers into life. He’s got a satiny-gloss of a finish, with
his eyes being glossy for realism. Being kiln fired and glazed, he will
withstand an outdoor life; just bring him inside if the temps drop below
freezing. Let this little one-of-a-kind fellow come find a home in your
garden, or perhaps a “place of honor” sitting beneath an indoor plant,
where he can stare out at you all day long… (lol!) |

TURTLE
Here’s our next “glaze test,” and one
that turned out kinda nice. Offered here for your consideration is a
sweet little turtle, kiln-fired and ready to join your garden crew. (If
placed outside, just bring him back indoors to live when the temps are
below freezing.) This little fellow was brought to life with the use of
four different, quality art glazes (and a new glazing technique), while
his eyes were brought to life using custom mixed underglazes. Those
bright, golden peepers were carefully made with four different colors;
boy howdy do they pop out at you! Due to the technique used, this
turtle displays a multi finish: his body is satiny, while his eyes and
speckled, spotted and splotched shell are glossy. He is definitely a
one of a kind piece, from those almost glowing eyes to his nicely
patterned, flowing shell, nicely sized at approximately 6” nose to tail,
4” at his widest, and 3” tall. |

TAF GLYNNA Did someone say
they wanted something unique? If so, then here is the piece for you!
Please welcome the newest fantasy creature to join the growing herd at
Two Acre Farms-- well, actually a “fantasy fantasy,” LOL – The
Kid’s rendition of a forest unicorn who goes by the name of TAF GLYNNA.
This wonderful animal has, for the most part, a snowy white body as do
her cousins, the more commonplace unicorns. But there she parts ways
from them, and with a vengeance! Her eyes are an unexpected and
brilliant apple green and her carved out inner ears are delicately
shaded. Her hooves are also shaded but in deeper tones of grass green
on apple green and her horn and lusciously, leafy mane and tail are
rendered in flowing, artsy evergreen with just the barest hints of
russet and gold peeping through. Green areas on her shoulders, back,
flanks and hips bring to mind the quiet tones that whisper among the
trees of the deep woods, while light spotting and dappling mimics the
rays of the sun that stream down through the canopy overhead. Finally
her muzzle and eye area are lightly pinked, for this lovely unicorn’s
coat is not in the slightest bit coarse or hairy, thus allowing her
delicate pink skin to show through.
Measuring a classic 6 x 8 inches in size, GLYNNA is signed and dated by
the artist, and comes complete with a laminated certificate of
authenticity. She is positively guaranteed to be one of a kind, never
to be repeated. |
